In a significant move to ensure public safety, the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia has halted the production of two specific meat products by the 'DG' company, operating under the 'Meat Food' brand, based in Yerevan. This action came following an inspection that uncovered multiple health violations. Conducted in the Babik-90 production cooperative located in the Achanabik district, the inspection revealed alarming findings upon conducting laboratory tests on product samples. Specifically, pathogenic microorganisms, including salmonella, were detected in the 'Kiev-style chicken cutlets,' a frozen meat semi-finished product. Moreover, the 'Moscow' semi-smoked chilled sausage showed excessive levels of sodium nitrite, or preservative E250, beyond permissible limits. The inspection authority has suspended the specific production activities of the unit in question until these issues are rectified. The director of the Babik-90 cooperative has been issued a mandate to cease the sale of the affected product batches, withdraw them from the market, and undertake destruction or safe disposal procedures as required. A deadline has been set for rectifying the identified violations to resume full production operations. According to open sources, Babik-90 is the manufacturing entity behind the 'Meat Food' brand, while 'DG' company manages its commercial distribution activities. The suspension is pivotal for maintaining sanitary standards and protecting consumer health from potential risks associated with these violations.
